Khorasan is the Cradle of Courage, Martyrdom, and Honor

The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament said: Khorasan province is the cradle of culture, guardianship (Wilayah), courage, martyrdom, and honor. This land has always shown, in the most difficult conditions, that true power stems from the logic of resistance and faith.
Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, speaking at the National Congress of 18,000 Martyrs of Khorasan Razavi held last night at the Ayat-ha Cultural Complex in Mashhad, stated: Holding such gatherings is a reminder for all officials and the people never to be inattentive for a moment in the face of worldly temptations and neglect, and to always know that the root of all the country’s social, economic, cultural, and scientific successes stems from the struggles (Mujahedat) of the martyrs and the self-sacrificers.
Martyrs are not merely the memory of history; they are the awakened conscience of society. Every fair and conscientious person, regardless of political or ideological leanings, bows their head in respect before the status of the martyr and the martyr’s family. Only those who have distanced themselves from humanity can be indifferent to this great legacy.
Divine traditions are always constant, and it is we humans who are tested and one day must answer for our actions before God Almighty.
No major operation from that glorious era can be found in which the combatants of Khorasan province—before its division into North, Razavi, and South Khorasan—did not participate.
The patience, self-sacrifice, and forgiveness of the families of martyrs and veterans are the greatest social capital for Islamic Iran, and the Iranian nation never considers itself without need or without responsibility towards this self-sacrificing segment of society.
The culture of martyrdom is not limited to the war era; it is the guiding light for today’s society in the economic, scientific, cultural, and social spheres.
The great victories of the Iranian nation against the Iraqi Ba’athist regime, as well as the resistance against America, NATO, and the Zionist regime in recent years, are the result of the culture of Jihad and martyrdom. This truth shows that the path of the martyrs is not merely a historical legacy, but a living and dynamic logic for the honor, independence, and courage of the Iranian nation.
Khorasan is the cradle of culture, guardianship, courage, martyrdom, and honor. This land has always shown, in the most difficult conditions, that true power stems from the logic of resistance and faith.”
The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, citing the statistics of martyrs from the greater Khorasan provinces, spoke about the impactful presence of Khorasan’s combat units in major operations such as Samen-ol-A’emmeh, Tariq-ol-Quds, Fath-ol-Mobin, Beit-ol-Moqaddas, the Karbala series, the Valfajr series, as well as historic resistance in Chazabeh, Mehran, and Qalavizan. He honored the memory of brave men such as Martyrs Rostami, Kaveh, Cheraghchi, Borounsi, Shoushtari, Mohammadzadeh, Rafiei, and dozens of other commanders and combatants.
By recounting memories of the martyred combatants and commanders from Khorasan, Ghalibaf stated that their memory and name are a source of pride and expressed: “The youth of today must know that a glorious past rests on their shoulders, and the heavy mission of safeguarding the ideals of the Islamic Revolution and the martyrs continues.”
