Trip by the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs to Kabul, Herat, and the Dogharoun Border Crossing

Kazem Gharibabadi, the Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, during his trip to Afghanistan, visited the Islam Qala and Dogharoun border crossings on the Iran-Afghanistan border, following his official meetings in Kabul and Herat.
Kazem Gharibabadi, the Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, visited the Islam Qaleh and Dogharoun border crossings on the Iran-Afghanistan border during his trip to Afghanistan, following official meetings in Kabul and Herat.
Gharibabadi stated during this visit: “On the way to the border, we visited the Roznak railway station, located 60 kilometers from the border, and held talks with the relevant Iranian and Afghan officials. On average, 3,000 tons of goods are transported daily via this route from Iran to Afghanistan.”
“Furthermore, after visiting the Dogharoun border, we observed the process of repatriating undocumented Afghan nationals to their country.”
“Our effort is to shorten truck waiting times and increase the volume of transit goods.”

“Following the inspection of border point ‘ج’, we were briefed on the existing ambiguities regarding this point. It was decided that these ambiguities would be examined and resolved with documented evidence at the first meeting of the technical and legal committees of the two countries, which was discussed in the meeting with the Afghan Minister of Borders.”

The Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran also visited the Dogharoun border and inspected the ongoing project to seal the Iran-Afghanistan border, gaining firsthand familiarity with the progress of the work.
